Dove Cottage Day Hospice is an independent organisation offering high quality palliative daycare to those people living in NE Leicestershire, Rutland and SE Nottinghamshire, as well as offering vital respite to the main carer. Our aim is to provide the best possible standard of physical, emotional, social and spiritual support for those living with a life-threatening condition .

We offer support to those living with a diagnosis of cancer and those coping with a range of other progressive illnesses.

Dove Cottage was founded in 1996 by a group of practicing Christians, in order to provide specialised care and support. Based in the beautiful rural setting of the Vale of Belvoir, we are a registered charity and accredited by the Healthcare Commission.

We provide a homely and peaceful atmosphere. Our premises are purpose built and have a lounge, dining room, quiet rooms, two conservatories, a hairdressing salon, complementary therapy room and a bathroom. Our grounds and gardens are well laid out and maintained to the highest standard with magnificent views over open countryside.

We are open four days a week and have a high carer/guest ratio.

There are always highly qualified nurses on duty, who specialise in palliative care, and who liaise with existing healthcare professionals to ensure individual needs are met.

Our team of carers also include volunteers who are trained and supported in their many varied roles; from assisting at lunchtime to supporting guests with craft activities and on outings and visits.
