CRICKET
LEGENDS
ARE TOP SCORERS
FOR DOVE COTTAGE
Two
of the greatest cricketers ever have
been active
in supporting Dove Cottage recently.Sir
Gary Sobers
visited Dove Cottage
as part of his day
in the area
helping
raise funds for us.
Sir Gary, formerly of Nottinghamshire and the
West Indies
cricket teams, was the guest
speaker at a gentlemans
sporting dinner at The Plough , Stathern, but also took
the opportunity to visit the hospice, tour the facilities
and meet guests and staff.
And New Zealander Sir Richard Hadlee, also a former
Nottinghamshire star, helped raise funds when he was a
guest speaker at a similar dinner in Stathern. The two
events raised £1000 for the hospice.
Sir Richard has kindly signed a bat that will be auctioned
at our St Michaelmas Day charity ball on September 29.
Sir Gary has signed two Dove Cottage tee-shirts that will
feature in the auction at the Cheese and Wine event on
July 28.
