How are Guests Referred to Dove Cottage.

Many people prefer to contact Dove Cottage direct but referrals are received from many sources, including:-

GPs

District Nurses

Social Workers

Macmillan Nurses

Churches and other agencies

When a referral is received, one of the hospice nurses will arrange a home visit for an individual assessment of their needs.

Once day care has been offered the guest's GP will be contacted and there will then be close and continuous liaison between the nurse and all other healthcare professionals involved with the guest's care.
