Following our official opening in December 1996, we have successfully been providing voluntary services offering high quality day care for those suffering with terminal illness or a life threatening condition. We are registered with the National Care Standards Commission to take up to 18 individuals per day.Through the commitment of our highly qualified nurses and trained volunteers we provide basic care and support as well as a range of social and creative activities. Our services are greatly appreciated by all that use them. A recent patient survey produced some of the following comments:-
"Dove Cottage gives me my independence, it gives me my life back again."
"A place where I forget my problems and worries. A place where my mood is lifted. A place where volunteers are just fantastic."
"What would I do without you, you really are the sunshine in my life."
All the services we provide are free of charge. Some funding is received from the local authority but we still need to raise £70,000 a year ourselves. If you could consider helping us any way, with any
amount, however larger or small, we would be delighted.
There are several ways you may like to consider supporting us.
If you would like more information regarding any of these options, please click on each heading. Please also feel free to ring us on 01949 860303 for further details.
Stathern Primary School are proud to support Dove Cottage in their
services to the community. We have enjoyed singing for the day patients
and are looking forward to attending the fete in May to share some of
our dancing skills. To see more about what we do, visit our wonderful
school website... www.stathern.leics.sch.uk
