UPDATE - MAY 2008

I do hope you found our last newsletter of interest and I am delighted to say that after receiving a very kind legacy, we are now in a position to start looking for a new mini- bus. We've already had a look at some and hopefully by the time our next newsletter comes out, we will have taken delivery of one.

We've also started a fundraising appeal for our new tearoom and have already got over £4,000 in the pot. We need to raise about £15,000 to carry out some necessary alterations and tidy up the outside. We intend opening in March 2009 so still have plenty of time to raise the balance.

As you know, our major fundraising event of the year is our Summer Fete which is on Sunday 18 May. Only 1 week away!! We're at! hoping for a nice sunny day so we can enjoy our lovely gardens where a full programme of entertainment is planned, ending with our very own Songs of Praise at 4.00 p.m.

The Prize draw always makes a huge contribution to the day and we have some great prizes on offer including a Digita! Camera, DVD player and DAB radio. I hope you don't mind but I have enclosed a couple of books of raffle tickets. If you can sell any for us it really would be appreciated. Obviously, if you can't, please don't worry, just let us have them back. We will need all stubs and money returned by the date of the fete. If you would like any more books, please let me know.

I've also enclosed a poster. Perhaps you would be kind enough to display this somewhere for us. There are also a few flyers for you to hand to your friends.

Any help you can offer us would also be most appreciated. We stiil need a few more people to man (or woman!) stalls. We're intending setting up our own stalls on Friday 16th between 10 am - 1 pm. If you can spare any time to help, that would be great. As they say, many hands make light work. As always, we're still looking for items for stalls. Mainly, plants, wine, cakes tombola prizes etc. Any contributions gratefully received!

If you're feeling really energetic, perhaps you'd like to take part in the 'Round the Point' a 5k Walk/Run from Eastwell which will be held at 11.30 a.m. on the morning of the fete. If you would like more details or an entry form, please contact Suzanne Rathbone on 01949 860911 or pick one up from us.

As always, many thanks for all you do for us. Your support really is very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Chris
